Visitors adding their branches to the community sea fan.
The second panting choosen by the counciil was the council was the COMMUNITY SEA FAN by the visitors to the OPEN HOUSE EXHIBITION 2019.
COMMUNITY SEA FAN
During the WAOH19 exhibition I had over 50 visitors over the two weekends. I asked each visitor to draw a branch of the sea fan in a colour of their choice.using a fabric paint pen.
I gave a brief demonstration of how to draw the branches that make up the cells. Most visitors were hesitant to participate at first, saying they couldn't draw but all managed to add to the painting which became a community effort with pleasing results.
The joy on their faces after adding their own branch was filled with incredible achievement. So many of the branches had its own unique style but the overall impression is one of unity and balance.
This piece was choosen to go into the #framed #exhibition of #streetart along with #paradisebird.
