MATiSSE CuT-OuTs

Students were shown Matisse Cut-Outs. They looked at the art elements shape and colour and then negative and positive space.

Unit Question Can we break conventions in drawing?

As the artist Henri Matisse grew older he was no longer able to paint. His eye-sight was failing and he was bound to a chair wheel. Matisse devised a technique called CUT-OUTS he used scissors to create his shapes.
