Research for 'When We Were Very Rich'
Felicity was commissioned to do the illustrations for her Mother's memoirs. "My mother, Isabel Donnollan gives a vivid account of her youth growing up in the Depression in Australia."
Felicity spent months researching the pioneering buildings of Australia and the many colourful descriptions her mother gave, for example an excursion into town and buying a pie for lunch off the pieman or a dayout at the beach.
It is a heartwarming story of a family bond deepened by the poverty they endured.
Felicity has tried to capture the essence of the pioneering spirit of Australia in her watercolours and drawings.
