HOW ART WORKS ARE MADE: The Development Stage
SCULPTURAL CAKES
This ART WORK was modelled on a donut in a sculptural cake project that I led. The inside in a round light bulb, wrapped in newspaper and then canvas was sewn, partly by machine and then by hand making the round shape with a whole in the middle. |
The donut was then primed and painted and then sprinkles glued on using a glue gun.
This is intentionally a large scale piece of art, modelled on the artists Claes Oldenburg for a school project. "Canvas Donut with Chocolate Sprinkles" 18" x18" |
This ART WORK was based on the 'Day of the Dead' Festival.
Watercolours, with masking fluid |
From the initial painting 'Day of the Dead' a sculptural element was introduced forming a 3-D major work made with mudroc and wire.
